rosemary jayne grannis
rosie grew up on the coast of maine, her passion for making beautiful clothes started in the late 1990's while working for "recollections" a women’s victorian clothing company, she co-designed and sewed with them for six years. while living in maine she also designed costumes for local theater groups. she now lives in burlington vermont and has been the costume designer for a number of productions presented by green candle theatre; they include "the nose", “american buffalo”, “rosalee was here” and “concrete kingdom”.
rosie continues to feed her love of fashion by making her own clothing designs and commissioned work for her business “rosemary jayne design” (http://www.etsy.com/shop/rosemaryjayne). As a fashion designer Rosie understands that clothes are much more than protection from the elements. Clothing can make a person feel confident and beautiful, or it can be comforting and nostalgic. Clothing can be a personal artistic expression, a projection of the person you want the world to see with out saying a word.
