DOSTIE is a versatile visual artist, a custom picture framer, production designer, and performance artist. His works have been exhibited extensively at Burlington venues including the Firehouse Art Gallery and Union Station. He will be exhibiting new artwork during the run of Art the Father November 2008 at the One Half Lounge on Church St. He has presented several Live Art Demonstrations and Performances at the South End Art Hop (2004, 2006, 2008), the Winter is a Drag Ball at Higher Ground (2004 - 2008), on Church St. during the culmination of the 2008 Discover Jazz Festival, and most recently at the One Half Lounge calling the 2008 Presedential Election live at the Dostie Report. In January he will compete with Team USA/Vermont at the 2009 Budweiser International Snow Sculpting Championships in Colorado. This will be Dostie's third engagement with the Green Candle Theatre Company having previously designed sets for and having made his stage acting debut in Aaron Masi's adaptation of Nikolai Gogol's The Nose in June 2008, he also designed the set for The Next State in Fall 2006. Dostie designed sets and props for both of Sweet Racket Productions' runs of Seth Jarvis' The Once and Future Ubu in 2005 and 2006. He has also enjoyed building many odd set pieces for the 2006, 2007, and 2008 performances by the Spielpalast Cabaret. In April 2008 he designed the set for Heat and Hot Water Productions' Seeking. Dostie turns custom frames at the Frame Game in South Burlington, is the manager of the BOX Art Studio, is a member of Green Candle Theatre Company's Board of Directors, and also sits on the Board of Directors for Art's Alive serving as both Vice President and Treasurer.
