Green Candle Theatre Company is a 501(c)3 committed to providing accessible, conscientious and dynamic theatre to its audience. Green Candle remains viable through its outreach to the needs of the creative community and its resolutely maintained low price of admission. The company’s exceptional devotion to these policies provides an environment that promotes and nurtures the artistic voice of Vermont.

For almost two decades now, Green Candle Theatre Co. has brought forth award-winning performances both locally and internationally. We support local writers, directors, musicians, designers, and actors so that they may present their masterworks of art for the enjoyment of our audiences and the enrichment of our community.

One of the challenges we face is that available funding for the arts is rather scarce, yet theatrical performance is a channel for some of life’s most enriching experiences.

As a non-profit organization, Green Candle’s budget consists of funds raised from ticket sales, donations, and from our own savings, and we collaborate with other theatre companies when possible. As you can imagine, these resources are often not sufficient to cover the costs of staging the exceptional productions that we are known for.
